The Lebanese film “Costa Brava”, directed by Monet Akl, opened the screenings of the fifth edition ofCairo Cinema DaysWednesday, at Zawya Cinema in downtown Cairo.
The movie is starring the Lebanese Nadine Labaki and the Palestinian Saleh Bakri, and previously Lebanon nominated him to compete for an Oscar Best Foreign Film, and also participated in the Venice Film Festival in Italy, and the El Gouna Festival in Egypt.
After the film was shown, a seminar was held with the participation of the director via the Zoom application, and Labaki attended.
The Egyptian film event extends until June 21, and highlights the latest Arab film productions that have participated in international festivals.
The Cairo Cinema Days program includes 13 films from Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
From Egypt, the two documentaries “From Cairo” by Hala Galal, and “From and to Mir” by Maguy Marjan, are participating from Egypt.
The first session of the Cairo Film Days was launched in 2017, and is being held this year in cooperation with the network of alternative Arab screens “NAS”, the Egypt International Film Company and the Arab Fund for Culture and Arts (AFAC).
