Lebanon faces Jordan in the West Asian Championship

The delegation of the Lebanese national basketball team (under 16 years old) left for the Jordanian capital, Amman, to participate in the West Asian Championship for teams under the age of 16 for males, which will be held between May 10 and 14. The delegation includes Hicham Jaradi (chairman), Rabea Francis (coach), George Akiki and Maroun Deeb (assistant coach), Joe Aramouni (physical therapist), Mitri Habib (fitness), Ryan Hashem, Jean-Paul El-Shami, Serouge Avedissian, Alain Nehme, Chris Al-Hashem, Nicolai Choueiri, Karim Oueidat, Eddy Khalil, Brian Saleh, Gad Tabbara, Anthony Al-Naba and Ray Abu Suleiman (players). Five countries will participate in the tournament: Lebanon, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Jordan. The two teams that occupy the first and second places will qualify for the Asian Championship finals to be held in Doha (Qatar) next June.

Lebanon plays Jordan today at 20:00 Beirut time, before it faces its Iraqi counterpart on Wednesday at 19:00, then on Thursday it plays with Iran at 17:00.
The coach of the national team, Rabie Francis, explained that the Lebanese team engaged in intensive daily training, hoping that Lebanon would succeed in qualifying for the Asian Championship, which will be held next month.
