The Minister of Culture in the caretaker government, Muhammad Wissam Al-Mortada, announced Lebanon’s participation in the activities of the Jerash International Festival for the current year, as the plastic artist Majd Ramadan, head of the Seniors and Art of Joy team, was chosen to participate on behalf of Lebanon in the festival, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.
It is noteworthy that the selection of the team by the festival management falls within the participation of the new and different experiences of plastic art in the world, as the Jordanian media praised the unique and distinguished experience of the happy drawing team.
The Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts hosts the “Happy Drawing and the Elderly” team, led by the plastic artist Majd Ramadan, who, through her lectures on plastic art at the Adult University of the American University of Beirut, and through the happy drawing classes, Ramadan was able to discover many artistic talents in drawing for a group of elderly people, as their lifestyle changed and they became a sense of pleasure through their passion for drawing, love of colors, and distance from the surrounding negative situations.
The artist Ramadan organized many electronic exhibitions for her team in light of the isolation of the pandemic, so it was the exhibition of isolation and creativity at the American University and other exhibitions. She headed her team at the Qatar International Festival for two years in a row among fifty countries, which won awards because it was the unique model in the world for the elderly in the positivity and love of giving and the beauty of art paintings.
The happy painting team participated in several different exhibitions, which drew the attention of the Minister of Culture to this distinguished phenomenon, so he overcame the difficulties and provided them with support accompanied by pride.
The plastic artist, Majd Ramadan, is participating in a special painting for the occasion, bearing the festival’s slogan, “Jerash Festival, Joy Continues.”
