The artist, Lebleba, is almost the only one among contemporary art stars who represented with legends such as Anwar Wagdy and Suleiman Bey Naguib, the only one who flew with the stars of the golden age of cinema since the forties of the last century, as a child, and has remained radiant with energy, vitality and talent to this day, and is honored by the Cairo Festival The film will receive the Golden Pyramid Award next November for its artistic career that spanned more than 70 years.
Lebleba says: “Words cannot describe my feeling of happiness and joy with this precious honor. I was overwhelmed by a feeling of gratitude as soon as I received a phone call from the artist Hussein Fahmy, the festival’s president, to announce that I had been chosen to receive the Golden Pyramid Award for the life journey. My different age, I found a tape of memories passing before my eyes and taking me back to my childhood beginnings when I was not more than five years old. From the stars, I was overwhelmed by pictures of my memories inside the plateaus of filming films with Anwar Wagdy and other giants of art. A lot of this honor, because it is a very important honor that celebrates my long journey, this is the meaning of its title, “The Golden Pyramid on the Journey of a Life.”
When Lebleba appeared on the cinema screen for the first time in 1951, an enormous energy of art imitating characters, acting, dancing, singing and improvising jokes in the body of a child no more than five years old, and her innocent features, naughty smile and lively performance were the gateway to conquering the hearts of her audience. Her talent was confirmed with Anwar Wagdy in the movie Four Girls and an Officer, which was shown in 1954, where the audience came out at the time talking about this young star who competed with Naima Akef in dance and show, and Zinat Sedky and Wedad Hamdi in comedy and wit, and withstood the acting test in front of professors such as Amina Rizk and Abdel Warth dysuria
The talented naughty child didn’t just disappear behind the magical cinema screen; Rather, she faced the audience directly and became famous in the years following her cinematic appearance in a completely different way. She became a popular comedian in the concerts presented by the great stars of Tarab such as Abdel Halim Hafez and Farid al-Atrash, such as the city lights parties, and she presented paragraphs in which she dances, sings and imitates actors and big stars. Lebleba’s cinematic career has been associated for decades with light and gentle comedy. She played her most famous roles with the most important comedy stars such as Adel Imam, Samir Ghanem and Mohamed Sobhi, and her presence on any movie in the seventies and eighties represented a guarantee of a huge amount of high-end comedy accompanied by flashes of the comprehensive artist who presents graceful reviews and singing. In the nineties, the most important directors quickly competed to take advantage of this renewable artistic energy that exploded with original talent. It was presented by Youssef Chahine in “The Other” and “Alexandria New York”, and it was used by Osama Fawzy in “Jannat Al Shayatin” and Samir Seif in “His Excellency the Minister” and Omar Abdel Aziz. In “Farhan Lieutenant Adam”, and with these serious roles that need an actress of a unique style, she remained faithful to comedy with its brightest star, Adel Imam, to present the movie “A groom from a security side”, and “Hassan and Morcos” with Imam and Omar Sharif, and participated in some films of the new generation.
