LeBron James was delighted with the clown nose. Dave Martinez thinks otherwise.
The problem for the manager of the Washington Nationals is that his outfielder Victor Robles agrees with the NBA superstar.
Cameras caught Robles in the cave with a clown’s nose on Sunday, a day after Arizona pitcher Madison Bumgarner called him a “clown” for hanging around to admire his home run in the eighth inning of Washington’s loss. for 7-2.
James posted the photo of Robles with the clown nose in a story on his Instagram account and added: “Something I would do for sure!”
Robles posted James’ response on his own Instagram story.
Martinez was not as enthusiastic about Robles’ response after Washington’s 4-2 win on Sunday.
“I did not see her. They told me,” Martinez said. “I’m going to talk to him. He is not the way we are. He already passed, he did it, I don’t like to see that kind of thing”.
The incident began Saturday when Bumgarner bristled at the Dominican’s reaction, admiring a solo home run that brought the Nationals within 7-2.
“Clown,” said Bumgarner. “He is not ashamed. You’re down 7-1, hitting your third home run of the year and acting like you’re Barry Bonds breaking a record. You have to be serious. I don’t mind giving up the home run. That we won 7-2 or 8-2, whatever it was. It’s frustrating”.
“I am the old man, the grumpy one. I get it. But they were things that did not usually happen, ”he added.
