LeBron James Auctions Custom Mercedes-Maybach S680 for Charity

Basketball star LeBron James ordered two custom Mercedes-Maybach S680 sedans for 2026. He kept one and entered the other into the Monterey Car Week auctions.

When a four-time NBA champion commissions a pair of ultra-luxury vehicles, the automotive world tends to notice. The customized Mercedes-Maybach S680 sedans, built for LeBron James under the Manufaktur Made To Measure customization program, bridge the gap between high-end automotive engineering and personal philanthropy.

While one of the matching vehicles remains with the basketball star, the second sedan was placed on the auction block during the Monterey Car Week festivities in California.

Custom Design Details and Automotive Specifications

Underneath its bespoke exterior, the vehicle is a standard Mercedes-Maybach S680 model featuring a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine that delivers 621 horsepower paired with all-wheel drive, as reported by Focus. The exterior stands out with a distinct ivory or light beige paint scheme applied to both the body and the matching wheels.

Distinctive personal branding replaces standard factory markers. Instead of the typical V12 badging, the exterior carries custom initials and emblems reading LJ. Inside, the cabin features dark blue Nappa leather complemented by porcelain-white contrast stitching and lacquer wood trim.

Additional interior touches connect the luxury sedan directly to the athlete’s roots. Engravings and embossed logos on the seats highlight family connections alongside a special plaque displaying GPS coordinates for Akron, Ohio, the star’s hometown.

Charitable Impact on Akron Educational Programs

All proceeds generated from the sale of the custom Maybach will directly fund local community programs.

These programs provide resources, academic support, and mentorship for students and families throughout Akron, turning a high-profile automotive commission into direct community funding.

Exhibition and Auction Timeline

The unique sedan’s public debut took place during the prominent automotive gathering in Pebble Beach before transitioning to the Future Classics charitable auction event.
