Lee Jae-myeong, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized National Assembly Vice Speaker Kim Young-joo and People Power Party lawmaker Kwon Seong-dong, who recently left the party and joined the People Power Party, sparking a battle with Rep. Kwon.

Representative Lee posted on his SNS this morning, “What do Kwon Seong-dong and Kim Young-joo have in common?” and also compared the nominations of the People Power Party and the Democratic Party at the Supreme Committee held at the National Assembly, pointing out that “the extreme case is National Assembly Vice Speaker Kim Young-joo.” .

At the same time, he said, “We failed to properly explain the so-called hiring corruption allegations that the public hates,” and pointed out Rep. Kwon Seong-dong as “a famous member of the National Assembly specializing in employment.”

Representative Lee pointed out, “Are you nominating these two people to help the people get jobs? Are the people going to get jobs if they line up for the two of you?”

When Vice-Chairman Kim was notified by the Democratic Party that he was ranked in the bottom 20% of incumbent lawmakers, he left the party, joined the People Power Party, and received a single nomination from Yeongdeungpo-gap in Seoul.

Rep. Kwon Seong-dong previously withdrew from the party during the impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye, but was reinstated. In the last general election, after being eliminated from the nomination, he was elected as an independent and was reinstated.

Vice Chairman Kim was suspected of being involved in the Shinhan Bank hiring corruption that broke out in 2013, and Rep. Kwon was also tried on charges of Kangwon Land hiring corruption and was found not guilty.

Regarding Rep. Kim’s withdrawal from the party, Representative Lee said, “The ethics of public officials is out of 50 points, but 50 points were deducted in the hiring corruption category,” and “The People Power Party recruited and nominated candidates with suspicions of hiring corruption that were filtered out by the system.” pointed out.

Rep. Kwon posted on his Facebook page 19 minutes after Representative Lee’s post was posted, “I am a victim of an incorrect nomination. We have the support of local voters. “I criticized Lee Jae-myung’s transformation into a partisan party,” he said, and countered that they had something in common: receiving support after leaving the party in opposition to the “cutoff.”

He said, “I will also ask a question. “What do Lee Jae-myung and Lee Seok-ki have in common?” he wrote, referring to former Unified Progressive Party lawmaker Lee Seok-ki, who was paroled after being convicted of inciting rebellion in 2013.

The People Power Party has been criticizing the Democratic Party for its creation of the Progressive Party, the successor to the Unified Progressive Party, and the pan-opposition proportional satellite party, calling it “the unconstitutional successor to the pro-North Korea Lee Seok-ki party.”
