At the Supreme Council meeting on this day, Representative Lee said, “The lives, economy, and security of the people are threatened due to the incompetence and irresponsibility of the government and ruling party,” and “The cabinet must all resign.” Representative Lee criticized the government’s cuts to the research and development (R&D) budget and called for expansion of fiscal spending, strengthening investment in the future food industry, and reexamining the government budget. He positively evaluated the government’s policy to expand the number of students in medical schools, but pointed out, “There is no talk of increasing the number of students.”
Chief Spokesperson Kwon Chil-seung met with reporters and said, “We propose a three-party meeting between President Yoon, Representative Kim, and Representative Lee for economic recovery and people’s livelihood.” He added, “The opposition party has been greatly ignored by the government and the ruling party, and politics has disappeared and needs to be restored.” “Situation,” he said. Representative Lee called for unity within the party, saying that the ethics tribunal would not discipline those who passed the motion for the arrest of non-Symyeon (non-Lee Jae-myeong) faction.
