Leeds crush Chelsea with the biggest “Premier League” surprises

Leeds United inflicted Chelsea’s first defeat of the season, with a very harsh score of 3-0, on Sunday, in the third stage of the English Premier League (Premier League).

Leeds, who survived the relegation to the “Championship” league in the last few meters last season, presented one of his best performances for a long time, specifically since his American coach, Jesse Marsh, took over the task of supervising him, succeeding Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, in the second half of the league last season.

To indicate the importance of Leeds’ victory, he lost against Chelsea by the same result last season at his own stadium, and also lost his 12 home and away matches against the Big Six last season as well.

Chelsea, whose Belgian strikers, Ramilo Lukaku, loaned to Inter, and German Timo Werner, who returned to his former team, Leipzig, began the season with a 1-0 away win over Everton, and was close to scoring his second victory when he advanced against his neighbor Tottenham 2 -1 until the fifth minute of stoppage time last week, before the latter’s top scorer, Harry Kane, snatched the equalizer at the last gasp.

Although the English Football Association suspended Chelsea coach, German Thomas Tuchel, for one match due to his quarrel with Tottenham coach, Italian Antonio Conte, the first was on the bench of the reserve players after his sentence was suspended, pending the issuance of writing the reasons for the federation’s decision.

After the referee canceled a goal scored by Chelsea striker Raheem Sterling for offside, Leeds managed to open the scoring after a fatal mistake by Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who tried to dodge Leeds midfielder Brendan Aranson, but the latter snatched the ball from him and put it in the net (33).

No sooner had the London team risen than Leeds hit it another blow when Spaniard Rodrigo Moreno kicked a direct free kick, and turned it header into the net (37).

Chelsea’s performance improved somewhat in the second half without being able to reduce the difference before Jack Harrison dealt the final blow to him by adding the third goal of reassurance to the owners of the land (69).

And things got worse for Chelsea, as he completed the last minutes with ten players, after his Senegalese defender Kalidou Coulibaly received a second warning in the match, in the 85th minute.
