Following the previous blessing for JMGO’s projectors, Leica announced its cooperation with Hisense at this IFA, bringing a new model with its classic red label. Cine 1 Ultra Short Throw Projector. This device is divided into 80-inch and 100-inch versions, both with 4K resolution, but the shortest projection distance is regarding 150mm and the other is regarding 300mm. Leica uses Summicron lens technology to create a “Leica-compliant” aspheric component for it, and this product also uses a three-color RGB laser engine developed by Leica in cooperation with Hisense and a DLP chip from Texas Instruments.
According to Leica, 80 inches and 100 inches are the best viewing sizes for the two Cine 1 models. Therefore, it also specially launched the corresponding size of anti-light screen, combined with the screen brightness can reach 2,100 and 2,500 lumens respectively. In the sound part, Cine 1 has built-in 40W Dolby Atmos speakers. It also has a TV tuner and comes preloaded with Hisense’s VIDAA OS, allowing users to connect different input sources via 3 HDMI (one of which is HDMI 2.1 with eARC), one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port.
As a product with true Leica pedigree, the Cine 1 is naturally expensive. Its 80-inch and 100-inch versions are believed to be priced at US$6,900 and US$,7,900, respectively, and will be the first to be launched in Europe in Q2 2023, before landing in the Chinese and US markets.
