Terrible crime in Leipzig!
A 34-year-old man was so brutally beaten by two unknown perpetrators that he died two days later from his severe injuries.
“The investigations are now being continued because of a completed homicide,” said the public prosecutor’s office and the police on Friday evening.
According to investigators, the man was standing by a car on Hoyerstrasse in the Schleussig district on Wednesday at around 8:55 p.m. when two suspected young men approached him.
“After a short conversation, one of the two people is said to have suddenly physically attacked the 34-year-old. The two unknown persons then fled on foot in an unknown direction,” said a police spokeswoman.
The 34-year-old was first taken to a clinic. He finally succumbed to his injuries on Friday followingnoon.
Police are looking for witnesses
The criminal police have started the investigation and are urgently looking for witnesses who made observations in the Hoyerstraße area on Wednesday evening between 8 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Information is accepted on the telephone number 0341 966 4 6666 or in any office.
