The government is empowering the display industry by including it in national strategic technologies. As China’s offensive intensifies, it has to compete with the technology gap, but expectations are high for the transparent display field.

In the display market, China took the top spot last year with a market share of more than 40% in this sector by promoting cheap LCDs.

Korea is reducing LCD and focusing on the high value-added OLED market, occupying more than 70%.

Following semiconductor, battery, and vaccine, the government added the display industry as a national strategic technology and decided to give tax benefits to research and development and facility investment from next year.
