After he had to postpone the first concert date as part of his “Broken by desire to be heavenly sent – Global Tour 2023” in Zurich’s Hallenstadion on March 7, 2023 due to bronchitis, the next shock for all Lewis Capaldi fans in Switzerland could now come come. The Scottish musician has canceled all concerts and performances ahead of the Glastonbury Festival, which takes place June 21-26 in Somerset, south-west England.

“The last few months have been a lot, physically and mentally. I haven’t been home properly since Christmas and at the moment I’m having a hard time getting everything under control,” Capaldi writes on Instagram. And further: “I need to rest, take the time to recover and be at my best for Glastonbury and all the other incredible shows that are coming my way.” He wanted to use the weeks to “just be Lewis from Glasgow” and Spending time with his friends and family and do normal things. “I hope you understand,” Capaldi said to his fans.

Should Lewis not be fit for the stage again after his break, this should have consequences for his performances in Switzerland. With his tour, the Scot will stop at Zurich’s Hallenstadion on June 28th. On Friday 30 June stands Capaldi then at the Openair St. Gallen on stage.

Lewis Capaldi suffers from Tourette Syndrome

In addition to exhaustion, the singer also suffers from Tourette’s syndrome. It was only last year that he shared the diagnosis with the public. This is a neuropsychiatric disorder that manifests itself in unwanted movements or noises, so-called tics. Capaldi spoke about his experience with the disorder in an Instagram livestream in September. The tics would come all the time, whether he was stressed, excited, or happy. “It looks a lot worse than it is. Sometimes it’s quite uncomfortable and painful. But it comes and goes, »said the singer.

In an interview with The Times, he said the illness could force him to give up music altogether. “My tic is getting pretty bad on stage now,” said the 26-year-old. “I’m trying to get that under control. If I can’t do that, I’m screwed.” If I get to the point where I’m doing irreparable damage to myself, I’ll stop,” he adds. “I hate exaggerations, but unfortunately this option is very real.”
