LH, ‘Bucheon Daejang Public Housing’ Public Idea Contest

[FETV=권지현 기자] The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 8th that it would hold the ‘Bucheon Daejang Public Housing Idea Contest’ as a part of design innovation.

This contest is for the A1 block of Daejang District, Bucheon, where 1002 units of integrated public rental housing are supplied. Applications will be accepted online only until the 17th of this month, and the evaluation will be on the 20th. Four external judges judge the work, and awards and prize money are awarded to the winning team.

Apart from this idea contest, LH plans to organize and operate a Living-Lap with residents of LH public rental housing in Bucheon to directly reflect public opinion on the design of the complex. Living Lab is an open laboratory where citizens directly participate to solve social problems and produce results. Citizens and experts collaborate to develop technologies and services.

In order to realize public housing that is completed with the participation of the people, LH will reflect the winners of this contest and the results of the living lab operation in the design competition guidelines, and in June, for the first time in the construction industry, promote a ‘public communication special design competition’ for companies.

The public communication special design contest is where local residents and stakeholders participate in housing design.
