Life imprisonment for the three policemen accused of killing Lucas González

Judges Ana Dieta de Herrero, Daniel Navarro and Marcelo Bartumeu Romero, in charge of the Oral Criminal Court No. 25 of Buenos Aires, sentenced the police officers accused of killing Lucas González, the 17-year-old adolescent who was murdered on November 17 of 2021, at the entrance of the villa Zavaleta in Barracas.

The main defendants are inspector Gabriel Alejandro Isassi (42), senior officer Juan José López (48) and officer Fabián Andrés Nieva (38), members of the Brigades and Summaries Division 6 of Commune 4 of the City Police .

Thus, Isassi received a life sentence, as determined by the court. López and Nieva also received the same penalty.

The three were not only convicted of Lucas’s crime. They were also accused of trying to kill the young man’s three friends who were with him in the car at the time of the incident. The case was investigated by the prosecutor Leonel Gómez Barbella. They were also accused of illegal deprivation of liberty and ideological falsehood.

On the other hand, another 12 police officers were charged in the case for covering up the incident, with accusations such as unlawful deprivation, torture and falsehood, aggravated by their conditions as police officers. Two others were charged with false testimony.
