A rhythmic first period, Fékir out injured

Real guaranteed to remain first
After a start to the second half marked by a recovery from Benzema out on his line by Edgar González (48th), the people of Madrid scored a second goal, after an attack led by Federico Valverde and concluded by Rodrygo (2-1, 65th). The young Brazilian striker could even have scored twice, if his lobed ball had not failed on the left post of Betis goalkeeper Rui Silva (70th). Real Madrid bent but did not break: Karim Benzema’s team is guaranteed to finish this 4th day of La Liga in first place. Betis Sevilla concedes its first loss of the season.
