The Opera Gallery will host the first solo exhibition of British-American artist Anthony James, on the grounds of the Dubai International Financial Centre, which will run until March 21. James is the only living artist who exhibits continuously on all seven continents, and his most recent exhibition was recently held in Antarctica.
The exhibition “Light” relies on the concept of illusion, which is a purely visual experience to create a sensory experience using light, by adopting a method that challenges the recipient’s perception of reality, as Anthony James’s works compare the concepts of light and darkness, and work to strip the mind of everything that is clear and possible, and that Using sculptural forms, using LED spotlights, and using both iron and glass to embody a multi-dimensional work.
Visitors to the Opera Gallery at the Gate Village in Dubai International Financial Center will be able to contemplate some of James’ most famous works, including: the 40-inch crystal Dodecahedron (Solar Black) and the 90-inch Dali Cube (Solar Black).
