“Lightning Strike Kills Two Workers and Injures Four in Colombia’s Cundinamarca Department”

Two people lost their lives and four others were injured after a lightning strike on the road from Pacho to the Supatá municipality in the Colombian department of Cundinamarca.

The fatal victims were identified as Luis Eduardo Cárdenas Herrera (52) and Miguel Samudio (21). His death occurred in the middle of an electric shock that occurred on the afternoon of last Thursday, May 25.

In this sense, the injured were identified as Diego Alexander Martínez Figueroa (20), Alberto Moncada (57), Víctor Julio Mora Moreno (55) and Orlando Leal Albarracín (38) years old.

As confirmed by the same governor of Cundinamarca, Nicolás García Bustos, those affected are workers of the department’s Institute of Infrastructure and Concessions, and they were carrying out operations in the construction of a footprint plate in this area.

“This afternoon there was an electric shock in the village of Panama via Pacho-Supatá where part of the team of the construction contractor of the Institute of Infrastructure and Concessions of Cundinamarca was working on the construction of a footprint plate. Unfortunately two workers died. Four receive medical care,” said the departmental president.
