800 km for €40,000!
This second model is already unveiled at the opening of its pre-orders. The Lightyear 2 is a mini Lightyear 0: it takes up the typical Fastback silhouette, the straight hood and the flat surfaces. But it is its autonomy and especially its price that make it one of the most interesting electric models on the market: the brand promises 800 kilometers of autonomy for 40,000 euros!
So of course, we will have to see if this promise can be kept, in particular because of the production costs. This Lightyear has in particular photovoltaic cells located in the roof covering to gain electrical autonomy. For the rest, it is too early to know more regarding the technical aspects.
But if Lightyear manages to keep its promise, this electric Made In Europe might seriously compete with the Chinese MG4 at the currently unbeatable price/quality ratio.
