Linafoot: Lupopo and Mohamed Magassouba humble despite the victory

The show of force shown against Maniema Union at the Joseph Kabila stadium in Kindu (1-3) this Thursday, March 21, 2024, did not give wings to FC Saint-Eloi Lupopo. At a press conference after his first success during this play-off stage, railway coach Mohamed Magassouba promised to work even harder in order to achieve better than this first successful trip.

“We’re going to keep our heads on our shoulders and continue to work a little harder. Congratulations to the guys who, with all the difficulties, all the oppressions, fought so that the game prevailed over the stakes,” he said.

Mohamed Magassouba points out the working conditions which he describes as mediocre compared to the ambitions of his team. The yellow and blue players would have done better if the facilities were open to the team early for their preparation, he notes.

“Not training in the appropriate places disrupted us. The preparation is a progressive line. The training sessions follow each other but are not alike. Each workout brings a dose of improvement to the system. When you miss two or three sessions it slows down your performance; we could have done better than that, if we had had access to the facilities a little earlier. With a lot of concentration, we will manage the rest of the competition knowing that all the opponents must be taken seriously,” he expressed.
