Line 1 of the Brussels metro partially interrupted due to a fire

No Brussels metro train is currently running on line 1 between Montgomery and Kraainem due to a fire between Tomberg and Roodebeek stations, STIB said on Friday morning. Replacement buses have been put in place.

According to a spokesman for the transport company, the fire is already under control. Most of it was smoke. The cause of the fire is not yet clear.

The electricity had to be cut in the area and, once the intervention of the firefighters is over, the possible damage will have to be assessed. It is therefore possible that the disturbances will continue for some time, according to STIB.
