Kostutis Navicas, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, is leading his country’s delegation to participate in the activities of the 28th session of the Gulfood 2023 exhibition, which will start tomorrow, Monday.
He said in a press statement that dozens of Lithuanian companies will display their pioneering products in the field of food industries at Gulfood 2023 in the Dubai World Trade Center from February 20-24.
The Lithuanian delegation accompanying the Minister participating in this largest food and beverage supply event in the world includes Dr. Antanas Finkus, Head of International Affairs and Export Promotion Unit, Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania; Davidas Klyuchinskas, Deputy Director of the State Food and Veterinary Services of the Republic of Lithuania; And Šroni Sablevicine, Agricultural and Commercial Attaché of the Republic of Lithuania in the UAE.
Kostutis Navicas stated that his visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the UAE and Lithuania through the exchange of knowledge, experiences and best practices that contribute to the promotion of innovative technologies, especially in the field of agricultural trade, import and export, as well as initiatives seeking to enhance cooperation between agricultural universities and research centers. In both Lithuania and the United Arab Emirates in sectors of common interest.
He made it clear that he will meet with Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, and Mohammed Ali bin Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers of Commerce, in addition to officials in Dubai Municipality and Bustanica Vertical Farm in Dubai, and the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development.
He added, “The Gulfood 2023 exhibition will shed light on the extent of the development of the food and beverage sector in Lithuania and the success stories that have been achieved in this sector, in addition to future attitudes and the status of agro-food industries in the world today.” There will also be an inaugural program for the Lithuanian delegation at the Inspire conference.”
On the other hand, Laurinas Mackenez of the AGUA Group will participate in this event to discuss the effects of sustainable food production, renewable methodologies, and shorter chains in the field of food industries. It will also review the importance of establishing strict controls for the food certification and classification process. He will talk about informed food production, consumption chains, and demand expectations, in addition to the importance of educating consumers and building trust and transparency, which are among the most important factors that contribute to the development of this sector.
This course is the largest of its kind. More than 5,000 exhibitors have been confirmed to participate, of which 1,500 are participating for the first time in the event.
