The Seimas of Lithuania has begun the procedure for depriving figure skater Margarita Drobiazko of citizenship. According to the speaker of the Seimas, Viktorija Cmilyte-Nilsen, the reason was her participation in the show of the Olympic champion in ice dancing Tatiana Navka, reports LRT.
“Looks like we’ve reached the final phase. Most likely, the decision will be made,” the politician added.
Last year, Margarita Drobyazko and her partner Povilas Vanagas, who won the Lithuanian championship 13 times, were deprived of state awards because of their participation in Navka’s Swan Lake show in Sochi. Drobiazko and Vanagas have represented Lithuania at the Olympics five times.
