Infantino officially re-elected FIFA president

Infantino’s promises for his next term

“There is a lot to do and we are here to organize competitions and develop football. For competitions we are going to organize the biggest FIFA Women’s World Cup ever in 2023. We will go from 24 to 32 teams. We will also organize the biggest men’s World Cup in 2026 by increasing to 48 teams. It will be for many countries their first World Cup and we must be inclusive. We have also decided to create a new Club World Cup which will be will play every four years with the 32 best teams in the world who will play at one place to decide who will be the best club in the world. We will do something similar to organize a women’s competition too.”

Infantino speaks out on a change to the offside rule

Gianni Infantino also recalled the work carried out by Fifa in terms of regulating transfers or modifying international calendars. The body boss went on to talk about future changes to the rules of football.

“We must continue to evolve the laws of the game with the IFAB. We have implemented VAR in almost a hundred countries. We will introduce a VAR system with four cameras for less wealthy countries and even a system with a only camera so member associations can use VAR.We are also testing a new offside rule that is more favorable to attackers but we are still in the testing phase.We want to make football more attractive for fans and viewers. “
