Live the arts at the Théâtre de l’Orangerie – Aurore de Granier – Go Out!

It is with minds bubbling with creativity, eyes hungry for inspiration, heads full of elsewhere that we devour the new programming at the Théâtre de l’Orangerie. Located at the top of Parc La Grange, this ephemeral place for the space of a beautiful summer returns this season with a program that takes us on a journey. A place of culture where open-mindedness is on the menu and where discovery is daily, the TO for intimates offers us a program that still and always mixes disciplines and mediums, adapting to all audiences. The opportunity to move the boundaries and push us into the unknown, while reminding us that some should not be exceeded. This summer we walk slowly towards the dreamlike summit of Parc La Grange and we let ourselves be carried away by a hodgepodge of music, theatre, visual arts, experiences, which speak to us of the present, and of the future, within us. inviting you to dream with your feet firmly planted on the ground. Discovery of the programming of this paradise not so lost.

Theater to talk about life

This season once again the TO takes to the stage, but here there is no question of keeping the straightjacket of classical theatre. On the stage, which far from separating the audience from the actors, on the contrary brings them together, plays are played out that shake up the codes of classical theater to offer us more than a mirror of the world, but a different vision of our time, of our thinking. Pieces that will be performed during the summer, including original creations from the Théâtre de l’Orangerie carried by local companies. Among these, Fabula Rasa who takes us on a journey to the end of the world, alongside two women who decide to rebuild relationships, language, but also dreams by learning to free themselves from the past and setting out to meet of their own borders. A piece carried by the Angledange company which mixes the genres of performing art to speak to us about inner journey and resilience. With her conference play, Sofia Teillet tells us about the sexuality of orchids. Between one woman show and a new look at plants and their wonders, this show at the crossroads of universes teaches us with humor while questioning us about nature. Another not-to-be-missed event, Like Beasts, a TO creation carried by the UmLaut company which tells us about a news item with a tragic ending. And yet, behind the story of this man living recluse, apart from society, and endowed with a gift for caring for animals, is revealed a eulogy of difference, freedom, and life on the fringes. . A poetic piece that leaves an indelible mark. Children are not forgotten at the TO with four pieces that will invite them to artistic awakening while talking to us about nature and reconnecting with the living. Wonder at the rendezvous.

The TO refreshment bar

music to escape

The Théâtre de l’Orangerie is also a place that lives to the rhythm of music. Throughout the season, the concerts follow one another demonstrating once again the eclecticism of this ephemeral scene. Electro music that mixes with the folk intonations of Bedouin Burger, but also with the Brazilian music of Sociedade Recreativa, without forgetting the Portuguese Throes + The Shine or Super Parquet will be there. We will also have the opportunity to sail on the side of tango with Brotzman & Cardozo, and to escape to the Indian sounds of Aikya. A sound journey that takes us on an overview of genres, but also of the world, for starry evenings where it will be difficult to refrain from undulating.

Flying saucer, an original TO creation

Visual art to apprehend the world differently

Once again this year, the visual arts will infuse the TO with installations and exhibitions that flourish everywhere, throughout the summer. But again, nothing here is ordinary. Works of art invite themselves on rooftops, in greenhouses, grow in gardens, and awaken our senses for experiences that are as artistic as they are surprising. Among the works to be found, Sun, another sun by Christian Robert-Tissot from Geneva, an astonishing solar star, or Nature Morte by Augustin Rebetez which takes place in the Great Greenhouse. A vanity, no doubt, with the desolate post-pandemic tunes, where mediums mix to better respond to each other and lead us into a universe in its own right where ideas collide and jostle us. A little marvel of this summer, Obscures lumière links art and science thanks to the work of ink on paper. An exceptional collection of drawings that reveal all of the root systems of European plants. A botanical lesson that amazes the eye with its delicacy, rediscovered by chance at the edge of a small lake in Austria, and which invites us to take a new look at our world. I promise, once again this year the Théâtre de l’Orangerie will inspire you.
