A week in Hawaii with Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America: It’s our first long-distance trip since the beginning of the pandemic. It takes us through the Hawaiian islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, where happy, carefree South Seas meets organized, familiar America. Unlike usual, I report here on cruisetricks.de in detail about the individual port stops and shore excursions only after the end of the trip – the schedule is simply too tight for live reports and the big time difference does the rest.
We fly to Honolulu (Oahu) and cruise the Pride of America to Kahului (Maui), Hilo and Kona (Hawaii Island) and Nawiliwili (Kauai) and along the Napali Coast of Kauai. That’s four islands in seven days with magnificent nature, rainforest, waterfalls, volcanoes, dream beaches like Waikiki, …
… snorkeling with turtles, maybe a few whales or dolphins, the best coffee in the world, hula dancing and Hawaiian culture, fine dining, but also Pearl Harbor with its dark history.
