Summary of the first half

Great game at Anfield. Liverpool showed their intensity from the first minute, but Tottenham responded. Every time the local full-backs accelerated and looked for the rival goal, the visit came out at speed and found spaces right where the defenders should be.

Those of Klopp understood that they had to control their advances a little so as not to be badly stopped every time they went back. They controlled the ball for a few minutes and Conte’s men planted a short and compact block that failed to penetrate the red box.

At the end of the first half, Liverpool accelerated once more with some good dangerous plays, but Tottenham responded once more with shots from mid-range.
