It’s not the first time in her tenure that Liz Truss has made headlines because of her attire. A few days ago, she gave a speech in Birmingham wearing a red Karen Millen bodycon dress.
What social media users immediately noticed: the same model is worn by actress Emma Thompson in the dystopian series Years and Years. In it she plays the leader of a right-wing extremist party and announces – just in the scene in which she is wearing the red dress – new concentration camps for England.
“It’s getting pretty funny,” series screenwriter Russell Davies commented on a corresponding comparison photo on Instagram.
