It was the speech that he could not give on June 25, when he prevailed by a meager 3.3% against Luis Juez but the final count forced the festivities to be postponed. With the triumph of Daniel Passerini and Javier Pretto, Martín Llaryora was not only able to unload, but went a little further and gave a speech in a national tone.
First, he recognized Rodrigo De Loredo’s gesture of acknowledging defeat (even though not a single number had been officially published), incidentally he sent Luis Juez a stick: “Some do not recognize when they lose.”
What followed from there was a clear message in a national tone with some recipients in particular (members of Together for Change) and one in particular (Horacio Rodríguez Larreta). “All the polls failed, that’s why they came from all sides. But the people of Cordoba did not fail and we do not need anyone from outside to say what we have to do,” said the governor-elect.
“We said that we were inaugurating a new way of doing politics, the Cordovan party. That is why we join different political parties, such as the URC, the PRO, the Christian Democracy, neighborhood supporters. This political expression knocked down all the polls and forecasts, ”he specified.
And immediately he began to shape a speech as if he were a candidate for the presidency. “Today we are more Cordoba than ever: enough of being mistreated from outside, the pituquitos from Recoleta, enough. Let this example be taken by the interior of our homeland, this is the cry of Córdoba”.
Then, he specified that “elections are won by talking to the people, not by walking through the Buenos Aires media (Note: a shot by elevation to De Loredo and Judge), that’s why I don’t keep quiet, I’m not afraid of anything, I’m just afraid of not defending the people of Cordoba.”
And he added: “Two governments of different political signs have already passed and the interior of Argentina continues to produce and endure. Anyone rules in the richest and most subsidized district in Argentina. Come rule within! Until when are they going to explain to us how to govern well: give us back the money from withholdings… they do not produce anything, they come, as they did today, to explain to us today that they are going to be the change… but not the one that improves the leaders but the one that improves people’s lives. Until when are we going to continue with many sepoys that are sold, we have no price. We defend federal Argentina. The people of the interior can’t take it anymore. The time has come for the next ones to get rid of those of us who work, we are in the financial scam ”.
In a direct message to Rodríguez Larreta, Llaryora said: “The resources must be better distributed. It cannot be that 90% of the transport subsidies are from the CABA and the interior has a strike (of collectives)”.
In one of the harshest phrases of his speech, he maintained that “you have to think of a different, federal country: you cannot subsidize the richest district in Argentina…they do not produce anything. Start generating a fairer policy, otherwise one day we will go for ours”.
Only at the end of his message did he ponder the figure of Schiaretti as a candidate for president of the country. “Enough of this unitary thought, we are tired of the policies that make Argentina poorer, the people of Cordoba want to work and progress.” And he added: “We create our own leadership. Córdoba looks like another country but it is not another country. What country would Argentina be if it had someone like Juan Schiaretti. I ask everyone, Cordoba and fellow provinces: it is not the only truth that presidents have to be from Buenos Aires or AMBA. I ask you to give Schiaretti the opportunity to make a federal country.”
