Long-term Covid symptoms can persist for at least a year following infection, the study reports. The researchers observed that 16 percent of the Covid-positive patients in the study continued to have symptoms for at least a year. The study was conducted by UC San Francisco and the US Centers for Disease Control.

The researchers assessed symptoms every three months. In many patients, the researchers observed that lacunae changed and recurred.

The study was conducted on 1741 people. Those who tested negative also had symptoms such as fatigue, runny nose, headache, shortness of breath, chest pain, etc., according to the research report.
