Implemented in the December 2nd update “VScript” is a scripting feature also found in Left 4 Dead 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that allows map authors to embed script code into their maps.
This VScript function simplifies the complex and cumbersome mechanism of the default map creation tool, and allows access to more parameters than ever before, allowing complete customization such as extending and changing game modes.
Special custom game modes that previously required the introduction of server mod plugins can now be shared on the Steam Workshop, and the community will be more active than ever before. Several test videos using VScript have been uploaded to YouTube immediately.
