Lookalikes of Vladimir Putin to replace him during public appearances: whimsical theory or reality?

Vladimir Putin’s state of health has been at the center of many questions for several weeks. However, according to Sergei Lavrov, the Russian president is doing well. Supporting evidence: his appearances in public. “You can see him on the screens, read and listen to his speeches. I don’t think sane people can distinguish any symptoms of disease in this man.“, he declared during an interview given to LCI.

Not enough to convince Sergei Jirnov, former KGB agent, guest on the set of LCI this Monday. “That makes me smile“, he comments. “He is Putin’s representative. He tells us that everything is fine.” According to him, during the recent absence of Putin, who is said to have undergone surgery, clips of Putin were shown in Russia on a daily basis. “During his absence, it was Patrushev who filled the role of president. However, each day of his absence, we broadcast the clips with Putin. They’re planning this.” explains Sergei Jirnov.

Images impossible to date which are often staged, according to the former KGB agent. “They are extras. It’s getting almost ridiculous“, he underlines. To maintain appearances, the Russian president would have even resorted to cosmetic surgery after appearing with his face “puffy and swollen”, he assures.

Sergei Jirnov also claims that Putin uses look-alikes. “You know, in Russia they say there are three Putins. And the Putin who visited a hospital is not the one we saw in the Kremlin”.

A theory difficult to believe, which is however “not so ridiculous as that” according to the former KGB agent. “We have the anthropomorphic analysis of the face, with which we can say with 98% certainty whether the person is good or not”, he explains. “You know, the ear shape is as unique as our fingerprints”, he continues. “We found three Putins with different shapes of ears, and that on the Kremlin channel”, assures Sergei Jirnov.
