Looking for a job? Here are the sectors that will hire the most in 2023

According to several barometers of groups specializing in human resources, employment prospects are good in 2023. There will be a strong demand for qualified personnel in certain sectors.

According to the Manpower Barometer, Belgian employers plan to slow down the pace of hiring during the 1st quarter of 2023, but a majority of employers plan to create new jobs in Belgium over the next three months. With a net employment forecast of +23%, Belgium is at the same level as the world average.

Employment prospects are contrasted at regional level: quite favorable in Brussels (+32%) and more cautious in Flanders (+19%) and Wallonia (+18%).

Manpower foresees a strong demand for qualified personnel in the Finance and Real Estate sector as well as in the IT sector.

According to the biannual SME employment barometer, organized by Acerta, Etion & VKW Limburg: 83% of companies say that their workforce will be the same or higher in 6 months compared to today.

Some sectors are more buoyant than others:

1) Professions in short supply: catering, health care, schools

2) Changing professions: Construction (in the field of insulation, passive houses, obviously in connection with the energy crisis), transport with the evolution of online commerce (5,000 truck drivers are wanted) .
