Looting of cargo vehicles in Bajo Cauca Antioquia – Medellín – Colombia

Dozens of people arrived on motorcycles and on foot to a tractor trailer detained in the Jardín corregimiento, jurisdiction of Cáceres, Bajo Cauca, Antioquia, to loot it.

Anderson Quiceno, director of the Cargo Carriers Association (ATC), indicated that they were 30 stolen vehicles and four occupants who were injured.

“Four drivers injured for defending their vehicles and merchandise. The mob attacked them. TWe have more or less losses of 120 billion pesos in what has elapsed since the strike in that area,” explained the directive.

He added that of the 350 thousand tons transported, 2,000 have already been lost in perishable products and 1,000 in looting this afternoon.

According to the mining association of Guarumo, which since last Wednesday has carried out a series of blockades on the road that connects Medellín with the Atlantic Coastthose responsible are not related to your protest.

“The Guarumo community rejects any act of violence and inhuman treatment committed against the citizenry, since does not represent the ideals and delegitimizes the peaceful demonstration initiated in the district of Guarumo, Cáceres”, says the letter.
