ÖVP spokesman for foreign and European policy: Federal government and Foreign Minister Schallenberg are working for a secure Europe – FPÖ is dabbling in foreign policy with the Taliban
Vienna (OTS) – “The blue trip to Afghanistan is probably the only thing that can be classified as frivolous and nonsense,” explains ÖVP Europe and foreign policy spokesman Reinhold Lopatka in response to the unqualified allegations made by FPÖ European spokeswoman Steger against the background of the EU foreign ministers’ meeting in Kiev . While the Federal Government and Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg are taking a constructive path towards European security in world and European politics, “the FPÖ trip to the Taliban has shown one thing – the Freedom Party can only dilettante in foreign policy.”
Lopatka: “Not only did Kickl’s supporters ignore every security warning from the Foreign Ministry, they also jeopardized the department’s ongoing efforts and provided a platform for the medieval regime in Kabul.” But the Kickl-FPÖ didn’t seem to care if they could only satisfy their own interests and desires.
“It shows once again that the FPÖ under its boss Kickl is a security risk and any fear of contact with any form of extremism there has finally fallen,” says the ÖVP MP in conclusion. (Ending)
