Joe Tata has passed away at the age of 85. He is best known for his role as bar owner Nat Bussichio on the cult series Beverly Hills, 90210.

The US actor Joe E. Tata, known from the teen series “Beverly Hills, 90201”, is dead. He died on Wednesday at the age of 85, his daughter Kelly said in a post on the GoFundMe website on Thursday. There she had previously reported on his Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2018.

Tata has had roles in TV shows such as Lost Between Worlds, Detective Rockford, and the Batman series from the ’60s. But he is probably best known as Nat Bussichio, owner of the Peach Pit restaurant, which became the favorite meeting place for teenager friends in “Beverly Hills, 90201”. Tata starred in all ten seasons of the hit ’90s series.

The role of Nat took over again in the offshoot series “90210”, which ran from 2008 to 2013 on the US broadcaster CW. “90210” star Ian Ziering, who played the character Steve Sanders, praised Tata on social media as “one of the happiest people I’ve ever worked with”.
