The Los Angeles Kings and defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension averaging $5.87 million.
The 27-year-old would become an unrestricted free agent on May 1is next July.
A native of Yaroslavl, Russia, Gavrikov played 20 games with the Kings last season. The Columbus Blue Jackets traded the six-foot-three defender to Los Angeles in March, where Joonas Korpisalo and Jonathan Quick were also involved.
In 72 games, Gavrikov has scored six goals and 13 assists this season.
He was selected in the sixth round of the 2015 draft by the Jackets.
