It seemed at first that the Los Angeles Rams coaching staff wouldn’t see the kind of annual poaching that it had seen in years past in 2024. But the dominos started to fall around the league and, low and behold, the Rams have lost five coaches, with possibly more to come.

After the Rams interviewed Brandon Staley, Ron Rivera, Rams defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant, and Chris Shula, Rams linebackers coach and pass rush coordinator to replace Morris as defensive coordinator they decided to promote Chris Shula to DC.
The Rams have hired former Chargers outside linebackers coach and interim head coach, Giff Smith, to replace Eric Henderson as defensive line coach/run game coordinator.

Jimmy Lake was brought on by Raheem Morris for the 2023 season to help develop the Rams young and inexperienced defense. He was among the reasons the defense overperformed expectations. Lake worked under Morris in Tampa Bay when Morris was head coach in 2010 and 2011.
