misplace one pet it is a painful experience. If you have gone through this suffering, you know that forgetting the event is very complicated and leads, among many things, to depression and anxiety. Tara Hillis, a citizen living in Atlanta, went through it all and thought she would never see her dog again, but it appeared after six years.

Like everyone else, Tara Hillis moved on with her life but one day she received a call she never thought she would receive: a person had found her dog ‘Chief’, who went missing when she was barely a year and a half old.

‘Chief’ disappeared in Georgia and by fate turned up in an animal shelter in West Virginia. To this day, Hillis does not know how his dog managed to escape, let alone that it was located 750 km from his original home.

“I honestly thought I would never see him again” indicated the woman to. Likewise, he acknowledged that he does not know if he jumped over the fence or dug under it.

At first, Hillis thought that someone took him to try to raise him, so he had already given up hope, but they managed to locate him thanks to a microchip.

Microchip, the key

According a man took “Chief” to the canine shelter and that’s when the professionals realized that he belonged to Tara Hills thanks to a microchip that he put when he was a puppy.

“He’s just a big baby” said Rachel Boone, a K-9 behavior specialist at the Huntington Cabell Wayne shelter in West Virginia.

The mysteries of how ‘Chief’ escaped, ended up in Virginia and how he survived these six years may never be solved.

However, Hillis is little or not interested in it because he will be able to reunite with his pet after a while. Meanwhile, someone from the shelter offered to take ‘Chief’ so that one of the most anticipated reunions finally takes place.
