Former Bayern coach Louis van Gaal is now returning to crisis-plagued Dutch record champions Ajax Amsterdam. The 72-year-old will support the supervisory board in an advisory capacity in the future. The former bond coach had ruled out a comeback as a coach for health reasons.
“I want to help Ajax. I currently spend a large part of my life in Portugal and that can be easily combined with my role as an external consultant,” said van Gaal, who had his first head coaching position in Amsterdam and led the club to the Champions League in 1995. title: “We have to find our way back to the top in sport, and we all have to contribute to that.”
