HEALTH – While in France, one in two men and one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85 (figures from the League Against Cancer, screenings for breast cancer and colorectal cancer still know low participation, below European targets.

Breast cancer: only one in two women are screened
From 50 to 74 years old, French women are offered a clinical breast examination and a mammogram every two years. But if the European objective of participation is at least 70%, in France, participation is around 50% according to a study published in the epidemiological bulletin of Public Health France. A rate once again too low compared to European recommendations, underline the researchers behind the study.
