What This Means For Everyday Driving

Winter days bring unique visibility challenges. Glare from low sun can obscure hazards and mislead drivers into misjudging lanes. To reduce risk, maintain a safe following distance, clean windows and mirrors, and use sun visors or sunglasses when glare is intense. If visibility worsens, consider delaying travel or adjusting speed to conditions.

As always, staying alert at intersections and driveways-especially when transitioning from bright to shaded areas-helps prevent similar incidents. Regular vehicle checks and ensuring proper lighting can also make a difference in adverse weather and light conditions.
