Lucille Boulevard is a pedestrian only trip

Doha: Access to Lusail Boulevard has been restricted to pedestrians from today until Saturday night.

Entry ban for vehicles has been imposed on the occasion of National Sports Day. Starting in the morning, a wide range of family-friendly events take place along the boulevard’s 1.3 km stretch. The vehicle ban is for the convenience of the public to participate in different sports events like football, basketball, tennis and volleyball. Officials have welcomed children and families to sports day events on the boulevard.

Lucille Boulevard, which opened in November last year, was initially pedestrian-only. Entry to vehicles started from January 7. It was the venue for the victory parade of Argentina, the winners of the World Cup final on December 18, and the cultural parade of the National Day.
