Lunar New Year celebrated in the Annapolis Valley

Thousands of Canadians celebrated the Lunar New Year on Sunday, which heralds the start of the Year of the Rabbit.

In the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, more than 110 people gathered at the Ross Creek Center for the Arts for a day of festivities.

Chris O’Neill, the center’s director, explained that his team worked with Acadia University’s Center for International Students to organize the event.

Children and adults did themed crafts and enjoyed a feast of furry bean pancakes, dumplings and Korean cookies, she said.
