Lydia Ko, world number one in women’s golf, and Jeong Jun, the youngest son of Hyundai Card Vice Chairman Chung Tae-young, got married at Myeongdong Cathedral on the 30th.
Chung’s youngest son, Jung Joon, graduated from McKenna University in Claremont, California. Since this year, he has been working at a Hyundai Motor affiliate in San Francisco, USA.
Lydia Go, a Korean-born New Zealander, won the LPGA Tour Canada Open at the age of 15. She set the record for being the youngest player to win on the LPGA Tour. At the age of 17 she rose to number 1 in the world rankings and she has been dubbed the ‘Golf Genius Girl’.
All Hyundai Motor Group executives attended these weddings. Chairman Chung, Hyundai Motor Company CEO Jang Jae-hoon, and Kia Motors President Song Ho-seong came, and Chung Mong-joon, chairman of the Asan Social Welfare Foundation, also congratulated the event.
Among the figures from the financial sector, Ham Young-joo, chairman of Hana Financial Group, was reported to have attended. This is because of the special relationship between Lydia Ko and Hana Financial Group.
