Two issues to be investigated emerge from the case file that was formed after the murderous attack of December 7, 2023, outside the closed gym “Melina Merkouri” in Rentis, with the victim of the police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis.
One concerns money laundering, i.e. the “laundering” of what it is alleged that leading members of the fans received from tickets sold with a “hat”, fundraisers and invitations.
The other concerns the testimony of a police officer who was in Rentis, who leaves open the possibility that, on that fateful night, his colleagues “facilitated” the escape of those involved.
“I came to my attention sayings and information about Olympiacos fans fleeing from high-ranking police officers, especially before the complete blockade took place and many police forces attended the scene.

Based on what emerged from the preliminary investigation, the arrested person is not only one of the leaders, but he is said to lead the Olympiacos fans who are active in the area of Korydallos and at the same time appears to be involved in decision-making regarding the occurrence of incidents, participating most of the time in them.
Again according to the transmission of EL.AS. he himself “is one of the main ones responsible together with the rest of the leadership team for the transfer and hanging of the banners of the Olympiakos fans. Also, in K.G. Melina Merkouri, checks the tickets of Olympiakos fans and decides who will enter the stadium”.
Even in cases where he himself has not participated in a criminal act, as reported by the police “as the leader of the organization, he tries to provide “solutions” and intervenes in order to succeed in acquitting the participants-fans of Olympiakos in the attacks, offering money to victims of fan violence attacks”.
During the 2019 and 2020 season, according to police sources, he was nominated by the P.A.E. Olympiacos and received the status of SLO, while based on the data kept in “ERGANIS” it appears that from 01/06/2022 the 41-year-old started working in the Municipality of Piraeus.
In fact, he, along with two others who have been arrested, are considered by the authorities as a leadership group that formed the core of the organization, on which its uninterrupted and continuous action was based. They allegedly chose the targets, planned and organized the criminal activity, playing an important role during the executive stage as well, with a physical and guiding presence in almost all illegal actions.
