According to foreign media reports on the 28th, 85-year-old Swiss photographer Rene Robert (Rene Robert) fell in the center of Paris and lay on the street for 9 hours without anyone caring, and finally died of “hypothermia”. After the incident was disclosed, it caused grief and anger in many parts of Europe over “indifferent killings”.
The report said that Robert was walking near his residence on the night of the 19th of this month, when he accidentally slipped to the ground and had to lie in the snow for nine hours. During this period, no one stopped to visit or assist. It was not until 5:00 a.m. on the 20th that a passing homeless person called the police and was sent to the hospital.
It is winter in Paris at the moment, and Robert spent too much time outdoors, and unfortunately passed away, the doctor diagnosed as “hypothermia”.
After the incident came to light, his friend, French journalist Michel Mompontet, was deeply saddened. Montbont angrily denounced France’s indifference: “During those nine hours, no passerby stopped to look at him, no one thought about why he was lying there…”
Montbont’s anger is not without reason. The place where Robert fell is located between the Place de la Repubblica and the shopping center in Paris, which is the city center.
