Lyon. Risk of thunderstorms: the city’s four major parks close at 6 p.m. – Le Progrès

After the heatwave warning, it’s time for the storm warning! The heat will (finally) give way to a bit of freshness this evening. The Rhône department is in fact placed on orange storm alert this Tuesday.

Heavy showers possible

Wind gusts of up to 70 km/h are expected in the Lyon metropolitan area this evening, which could cause damage. Hail and heavy showers could occur in the Lyon metropolitan area but also in Beaujolais.

To prevent trees from falling on walkers, the city of Lyon has decided to preventatively close the city’s four major parks at 6 p.m. this Tuesday.

The parks concerned are: Golden Head, Blandan, Cherry Orchard and Gerland.

Cemeteries are also affected by these closures, which will also take effect at 6 p.m.

Temperatures drop on Wednesday

The weather is expected to remain uncertain on Wednesday, with temperatures expected to drop by 15°C. It will be 22°C in the morning and 29°C in the afternoon, with a risk of thunderstorms again late on Wednesday.
