Lyon announced on Tuesday the transfer of young Malian midfielder Habib Keita to Clermont (L1) for an amount of one million euros with a 20% incentive on a possible capital gain on resale.
Aged 21, Keita signed up for four years at Clermont Foot. Arrived at OL in 2020 from the Malian club Guidars FC, he played seven times in the Rhone jersey (four times in Ligue 1, three in the Europa League).
Last season he was on loan at Kortrijk, in the Belgian Premier League, with whom he made 21 appearances in all competitions.
Keita is the third summer recruit from Clermont Foot, 8th in Ligue 1 last season, who fixed his recovery for Thursday before launching his 2023-24 exercise by receiving Monaco on the weekend of August 12 and 13.
The Auvergne club specifies that it had been following Keita for several months and that the two parties had already been close to signing last January, during the winter transfer window.
