Franco-Swiss painter, Thomas Vuille (a.k.a. M. CHAT) was born in Boudry, in the canton of Neuchâtel, in 1977. He produced his first works of street art at theacrylic when he was only 15 years old, in memory of his grandfather, a house painter. This idea of “memory” of mur, as a material, will also remain firmly anchored to its work. Student of theInstitute of Visual Arts d’Orléans between 1995 and 2001, it was in the streets of this city that he created his emblematic character: M. CHATa benevolent and joyful figure, smiling around the walls and on the roofs.
